About Us

Growing up in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Jeff was introduced to the hunting, fishing, and trapping by his Dad at a very young age; falling in love instantly. Over the years he made the Great Outdoors a focal point for his life’s work. Jeff earned degrees in both environmental management and fish & wildlife biology and, as an award-winning member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada has contributed to many Canadian and American publications & websites over the past 20+ years.
His popular Outdoors Guy column now runs in syndication in more than 30-newspapers across Canada from Ontario to Alberta! Jeff is the former Editor-in-Chief of Fish, Hunt & Ride magazine, and former Editor-in-Chief of the now defunct HookandBullet.com website.  He contributes to several tourism magazines and maintains a regular column in Bounder for the past 10 years.
The Outdoors Guy enjoys traveling and has visited every Canadian province – hunting, fishing, camping and enjoying the fruits of his labor. He describes himself as the consummate conservationist and family-man, and describes his cooking as down to earth and simple, and as about as Canadian as you can get. He brings with him an in-depth knowledge of nature and conservation along with a genuine love and passion for the outdoors – from the field to the table. He has 6 books to his credit beginning with; Weird Facts about Fishing, released in 2009 followed by a string of cookbooks through by Lone Pine Publishing and Company’s Coming.
Jeff and his family are avid outdoor enthusiasts and spend the summers at their cottage in the Quebec Laurentians, or at his nearby mountain hunt camp.
