Royals told by Animal Rights group to avoid Stampede

  stampede

Prince William and Kate Middleton are being urged to avoid the Calgary Stampede, during their visit of that city in July.

The UK Animal Rights group called Fight against Animal Cruelty says if the Royals visit the famous Calgary Stampede; it would be like saying that rodeos, in general, are ok.

The Animal Rights group also sent Prince William and Princess Kate a short propaganda video(shot to the dramatic music of Olivier Stone’s movie Platoon) depicting the horrors of rodeo in North America, although none of the footage was reportedly taken at the Calgary Stampede.

According to the Calgary Herald:

“Every year, the Calgary Humane Society has animal protection officers on the grounds throughout the Stampede monitoring and enforcing provincial and federal animal protection legislation.

Executive director Patricia Cameron said the Stampede has been responsive to recommendations for improvements to animal safety. She said the Stampede has made at least 33 amendments to its practices based on consultation with the humane society in recent years.”

It remains to be seen whether Wil & Kate keep the Calgary Stampede as part of their 3-day itinerary. I would sure that, with the Royal Family’s long history of hunting and show horses, they do not cave to pressure.

According to Stampede Spokesperson Doug Fraser, the Royals are more than welcome in his fair city:

“If the royal couple has any intention of seeing the rodeo, we’ll give them the best show possible,” said Fraser.

Prince William and Princess Kate will be in Calgary from July 6 – 8, as part of their cross- Canada visit.

Animals Rights Group coughs up a Fur Ball

  animalrights

Well folks, it finally happened!

The Animal Rights Groups now appear to battling amongst themselves!

I suppose it was really only a matter of time.

According to SUN Media, the same group who forced ‘Foie Gras’ to be removed from an NCC dinner at Winterlude – the Ottawa Animal Rights Defence League – now has their sights set on the Ottawa Humane Society’s fundraising dinner known as the Fur Ball.

(John Baird at a previous Fur Ball)

The Ottawa Animal Rights Defence League appears to have a beef (pun intentional) over what’s being served at the Ottawa Humane Society Dinner in March, and they are doing their utmost to have it removed!

Animal Defence League spokesperson Sue Lawrence said she was extremely sad that such a fundraiser dinner, being held at the National Gallery, would consist of meat. Lawrence says they should be serving a strictly vegan diet.

But alas, the Ottawa Humane Society is not caving in and plans to stick with the original menu which includes meat.

The Society has even spoken out to clarify that they are considered an ‘animal welfare’ organization and not an animal rights group, and do not have a position against raising animals for food.

The Ottawa Humane Society has even offered a vegan option at previous dinners, but says that fewer than 5% of guests have opted for it.

Well I say, KUDOS to the Ottawa Humane Society for sticking to their guns, and I take back what I said earlier.

There seems to be only one Animal Rights Group in this story, and they certainly appear to have lost this round.

Now, let’s get some Foie Gras back on the Winterlude menu!!

Animal Rights Activist kept children in dog cages

  Filthypigs

A self-proclaimed Animal Rights Activist faces up to 3 years in prison for abusing her three sons, and even forcing them to stay in dog cages!

The 49-year old Connecticut woman, who ran an animal rescue shelter out of her home, was discovered after her 14-year-old son was admitted to a psychiatric hospital – suffering an emotional breakdown.

He and his two younger brothers were said to have suffered sexual and physical abuse at the hands of their Animal Right’s activist mother.

Is it just me, or is this sort of shocking behaviour not even that surprising anymore; given that it is an “Animal Rights” person involved?

It reminds me of the time I was confronted by Animal Rights people at the Ottawa Shiners Circus two summers ago. I was there with my two daughters and as soon as we arrived, the Animal Rights idiots were in our face with their annoying megaphones!

They went on and on about how ashamed I should be for subjecting my children to such animal abuse and cruelty. Then they went into vivid detail about the degree of suffering an elephant goes through in a given day.

They even made my youngster daughter cry for God’s sake!

Finally, I grabbed a bunch of pamphlets and threw them in their face. I said “You must be very proud of yourself, to make a little girl cry like that!” You must have been proud too when PETA was stripped of its “non-profit’ organization status a few years ago?”

(I actually said more which I will not repeat)

“Do you realize how many children and their family’s the Shriner’s hospital helps each year, you ignorant bastard?” But they didn’t care one bit, in their minds the Shriners were nothing but a despicable bunch of animal abusers.

They wouldn’t let up either, and finally we were able to get away and move to the entrance. A Shriner Rep. came up to me later saying how sorry he was we had to deal with that, he thanked me for the support and even offered us free tickets for the show. It was very kind of him.

The whole experience proved to me how little disregard ‘these people’ have for human decency. When I heard about the woman in Connecticut, it did not surprise me in the slightest.

It is a sad state of affairs when the abuse of children becomes almost ‘expected’ from Animal Rights groups. It just goes to show how sick they really are!
