Two years ago this week!

Looking back two years ago this week, it is incredible to think how much snow we really had that year!

 

Can you imagine any animal trudging through that much snow?

 

In the same spot alongside my house this year, there’s barely 10 inches of snow on the ground!

  1. i agree. this is the first year my kids have kept the driveway and walk free of snow not because they are loving caring children but because we do not have any snow. The animals have had a easy winter and they need one after the last few we have had. Went for a drive last night and seen 15 deer bedded in the cut corn field 2 bucks still had antlers

    You can almost sense a sigh of relief felt by deer this year…I know I feel it!

    I remember how stressed out I was that winter/spring. Everyone felt it and our
    four-legged friends too..the ones that lived anyway.

  3. yes. for sure . this is one of the first year the place where i hunt has not gotten deer permits for removal. the deer population fell greatly last year. this year though i did not see may fawns while hunting but the deer i am seeing now have last years young with them .. I think with the large number of coyotes around if mom found a safe spot for the young ones she did not venture to far from that area now that food is some one difficult they are comming to the cut corn field

    Yes it has been a refreshing winter, not much snow to shovel and a lot easier to get back to the old honey holes.

  8. Tell me that’s not you in the pic….I had to look closer and confirmed that there’s a lot more of you in this pic (if in fact it is you) than there is in your banner pic (or was the banner pic taken 10 years ago?)

  10. Trapper, both the Banner pic and the winter photo were taken the same year…about 3 months apart..I just had a lot a clothes on in the winter shot…
